BÂTISSE KARSTIQUE
As part of the first edition of Voyage À Nantes
We leave the city for a moment to dive into a place governed by slower geological time, out of step with reality. A slowed down but still evolving dynamic, which accompanies the wandering of the visitor punctuated by the regular drip of stalactites.
KARST BUILDING is the installation of an artificial grotto within an existing building oscillating between the natural phenomenon of the formation of speleothems and fiction. Imagine that this abandoned building is gradually transformed, via a flow of water through faults and cracks, by the formation of a theatrical mineral landscape and composed of various stalactites and stalagmites.
STALACTITE BAR
The brightest part of the installation is like an icy landscape. These are the objects that illuminate because of their transparency and brilliance, but also by all the roughness they present. Frozen room that suddenly comes alive to turn into a bar: stalactites become on the counter stalagmites but also glasses and decanters: well-known objects that refer to our daily lives and that the visitor can use.
Red and white earthenware, white and black enamel, gold, wood, glass, fountain and drip.
